Patient Portal


Information is becoming a critical success factor in the health care industry for patient-centered, financially viable health care. In Ansatz des Patientenportalsconjunction with the current digitization efforts, the responsible patient and their need for information is becoming central to good health care. Closely related to this are the concepts of patient empowerment and patient engagement, which reflect the empowerment, i.e. the development of health skills and active personal use. However, there is often a lack of a real informational integration with patients, that addresses the respective treatment complex, the patient's competencies, as well as the current status of treatment.

The Helict Patient Portal

For this purpose, patient portals are an optimal access point and information hub for targeted and needs-oriented communication with the patient. They offer the possibility to prepare contents, to provide coordinating support (appointments and tasks) and to optimize the therapeutic process, e.g. by sending and evaluating questionnaires in advance.

Our patient portal has been developed on the basis of our many years of project experience and has already been tested in various areas of care. It is a modular and standards-based core application that can be flexibly used in different case scenarios.

The patient portal is pathway-based and implemented in a platform-oriented structure. This implementation allows third-party providers to integrate their own modules into this ecosystem. Third parties could be app developers from medical device manufacturers, AI experts, or developers of disease-specific software. The central entry point is the user interface of the portal, where functions such as the medication plan, task management, document and form view can be accessed.  Application systems of other healthcare institutions can be connected via the FHIR interface, this enables a continuous patient pathway.



Our patient portal goes further than existing solutions do, which are neither institutionally concentrated nor contextually independent. That means that our solution not only supports the patient's encounter with a healthcare facility but also integrates all parties concerned in the health care process. Depending on the care and interaction needs, specific modules can be added to optimize the user experience for the patient.
